Sara's Song

Posted March 22, 2016 by: Dudley Hall |33 Comments

On March 21, 2016 Sara West Hall (Mrs. T.D. Hall) relocated. She moved from the earthly tent into the safe arms of Jesus to await the great resurrection. Those who knew her well loved to hear her sing. She played the piano well even after some severe memory deterioration. Actually her life was a song full of harmony and heart. At an early age she aligned her heart with the sound of heaven. She heard the harmony of God's word and loved it.... Keep Reading

Short Stories - Dudley's latest Stream post

Posted October 2, 2015 by: J. David Hall |0 Comments

The Stream website just posted a new article by Dudley on "Short Stories." I remember fondly sitting on the porch listening to my dad and his friends tell stories of their experiences. Some were so funny I would lose my breath laughing. Others were serious, but it was easy to see the lessons even when no one pointed them out. Without interlocking stories, life's experience is just a blur. It is then easy to reduce our lives to a search for moments of pleasure, avoiding anything inconvenient or complex. Everyone has a story and it is worth hearing. Perhaps we could regain some lost ground in relationships if we took the time to think about our own story, listen to others tell their story, and read the Bible as the story that connects all the other stories with meaning and purpose.... I Love to Tell the Story -- Dudley's Stream Post

Posted August 30, 2015 by: J. David Hall |0 Comments

The Stream website posted an article by Dudley on "I Love to Tell the Story." There are many stories that attempt to interpret history and define reality. None of them truly fit the plot. None of them carries the presence of the Savior with the story. They all lead to attempts at reaching immortality, blessings, God's acceptance, and a better life. None of them tells of the one who came in our behalf and did everything humans could never do, paying the full penalty for all our rebellion, and presenting us to God in his own righteousness. All other stories leave the outcome in human hands. The old story is about God from first to last. We are the beneficiaries.... Keep Reading

The Selected Rejected -- New Stream Post

Posted August 16, 2015 by: J. David Hall |0 Comments

The Stream website just posted a new article by Dudley on "The Selected Rejected." The early Christians were surprised at the suffering they experienced because of their unique faith in Jesus as Israel's Messiah and the world's Lord. The apostle Peter, wrote to encourage them that, though their contemporaries had rejected them, God himself had previously selected them. They were truly the selected rejected. (The link appears after the jump.)... Keep Reading
